Anyone purchase and experience a j or p graphite replacement neck from Klos Guitars?
I pre ordered one when they first offered them for j bass/waited over a year b4 I received it/sent neck and body to them for installation[no holes for neck -body drilled] received it and had to adjust it to be playable/it sat for a month in case in a climate controlled environment…took it out it was unplayable…sent it back to Klos where they informed me the frets were lifting off of fingerboard material And some finger boards were separating from necks in certain batches. I asked for refund and they want to install a ‘NEW’ neck stating they only have a 30 day warranty upon customer receiving a neck…Pass the word around it’s one thing to put out a defective product at a high cost and then turn around screw the customer with corporate BS.
So they don’t want to give you the refund but will install a new neck for you? At no additional charge of course. That’s ok.
Where are they made? the price is pretty high if they are made in Asia. My Status neck was handmade in England and it’s not that pricy a few years ago. Of course, they are no longer available.
It’s not corporate BS, it’s their policy, clearly stated on the site.
That said, they offered to address the issue, assuming for free (past the warranty)
YOU took 30 days before you examined the product?
Bad product happens. At ALL levels.
I sent back 2 NEW Epiphone Tbirds due to production issues with frets, finish and electronics.
Got a substantial discount due to lifting frets on a 73nder MIM rosewood Meteora.
I fixed the frets myself (got skills)
In the end: that KLOS should have never left the factory !!!
Yes,they offered a new neck…That Said would you take up their offer after finding out about the defects in different batches they outsource or manufacture ? It’s a roll of the dice which involves a substantial amount of coin paid. As far as where they’re made I have no idea and no one seems to either know or disclose. Wherever they come from lifting frets /lifting fretboards sounds like a chinese outsource to me. I had both a status and modulus years ago never should have sold either ,There was no B S with either Co. as with Klos
Yes,I received the neck after a year of waiting for it to arrive [with no holes drilled for mounting despite Klos’s inquiry of which model ect.ect. with original order…Receiving the neck with no mounting holes only a drill bit to use for drilling the holes myself,I laid out an additional $100.00 to return /have Klos do installation .When again receiving the “completed” neck install it was unplayable.Sent it back,Inquired concerning return ,was informed of the frets lifting also some fretboards separating from neck.So in answer did I wait 30 days ? NO . Would /Should anyone receive less than a full refund rather then take a chance with another neck with possibly the same defect/s?
I sent back 2 NEW Epiphone Tbirds due to production issues with frets, finish and electronics.
Man, I don’t think I have ever picked up an Epiphone product that I considered well made. I know lots of people rave about their LP’s, and I am willing to believe, but the ones I have tries were doggy dog for quality control.
Some folks here had good luck with the T-birds, sounds like you didn’t?
Basically it sounds like they are really inconsistent on quality control.
My Les Paul needs quite a bit of work. That’s why I decided to just get a Revstar, but a lot of that was my fault. I kept it stored in a non climate controlled space for 15 years in a gig bag. I don’t blame Epiphone for that one.
