Lewis Hamilton's first laps in a Ferrari!

I don’t get to watch much else than highlights on YouTube as we don’t have live tv, but I look forward to seeing what the champ can do in this next season!

Isn’t Hamilton the guy that Max Verstappen always sees in his rear mirror???!

I’ve been a Ferrari fan since I was a kid. Sadly, it also seems to be the place that drivers go to get their soul crushed. Just look at Chucky’s pictures when he joined and now. The life seems to be gone.

That being said, it would love to see the pony on the podium more often. Maybe it’ll bring some life back into them.

It’s going to be interesting to see how the dynamic plays out between Lewis and Charles!

Except when that’s not possible.

It’s hard to say with Ferrari team made some, how can I put it, not very intelligent decisions all the time. It’s borderline sabotage. :joy:

If Verstappen is looking in his mirror, he needs to take a race car driving lesson from the Italians:

He learned racing with DAF reverse races - a truly great Dutch event

This is both the dumbest and one of the best car races ever.

It is a metaphor for the Dutch mentality!

Just for the sake of it and maybe this is beyond lame

F1 has become rather predictable ever since they built the longer wheelbase cars. Yes , DRS has changed the game for the better but still. So what I have observed is when a team changes an engine or whatever and they start in the last row , that becomes interesting.

In a dream world and why I mentioned the word lame

I would love to see F1 add important overall points to qualifying and then place cars in reverse order. As in the pole position starts dead last and the slower smaller teams start on the front of the grid. Again , this is just me , but watching these incredibly talented drivers cut their way through the pack would be flipping rowdy. I mean this , could you imagine Ferrari , Red Bull , etc racing through the grid for 75 laps while overtaking HASS , Visa PB , And Who Is This Team STAKE?? Would really create an already racy pitstop dash rather dicy and timely , right?

For me , that would be entertaining because watching Max lead has lost its appeal just like when Hamilton And Bottas dominated every single round for years. My point is , something needs to change in F1 Racing because by Lap 10 , you already know who will be on the podium.

Having said that , looking forward to catching the Albert Park down under opener. I was very fortunate to travel to that race back in 2006 and absolutely loved walking the track post race. A true highlight for sure .

Be Well ,
Cheers

You used the adjective interesting to describe F1.

I also hope Carlos helps boost Williams. I want to see them both do well.

Ehhh, point taken. And Monaco is the worst snooze-fest of all. But I’m curious to see how the soap opera will play out, reminiscent of the Hamilton and Alonso interteam rivalry circa 2007.

This past season was far more interesting, IMHO. Just look at the back half of the schedule, lots of drivers on the top step:

With the emergence of McLaren and particularly Lando as a viable contender to Max, it did get rather interesting for a bit, relatively speaking. I’m an addict, though, I’ll watch every race regardless.

The Dutch Demolition Derby. That’s freakin’ hilarious!

Don’t call it that!

Cause of the unique variomatic transmission, DAFs could drive just as fast backwards. as forward (up to 120km/h). So it was only logical to invent the backwards races. The Dutch like to explore all options at hand, after all

Demolition is a merely side effect of driving backwards - I have tried it many years ago in one of those DAFs … and it’s quite hard. Not the steering itself, but looking backwards all the time.
If you loose focus for just a millisecond, strange things happen! But it’s endless fun … until it ends…
