Just out of curiosity, what’s the connection between these two groups?
EDIT: I answered my own question… Steve Winwood is the common denominator.
I’m not a big Steve Winwood fan, and neither of those bands are of any interest to me.

Not my style but this course has opened my mind to appreciating bass lines rather than judging genres

Do you mean the Spencer Davis Group?
If so, I always liked “Gimme Some Lovin’”. Cool bass line in that.
From the genre, also liked Otis Redding. “Sitting On The Dock” and “Can’t Turn You Loose” are classics.
