Well, I picked up the bass today for the first time in 24 days. I started with my favorite, the Hofner Club because it’s so light. I was delighted when I discovered I hadn’t lost any of my bass mojo, and immediately belted out Billie Jean, Money, Sunshine of your Love and a couple other of my warm-up riffs. I lost a great deal of muscle in my back and thighs due to being off my feet for so long, but I’ll be visiting the gym to get those back in shape.
After about ten minutes of practicing, followed by a 20 minute break, I picked up the Frank Bella ESP, which weighs nearly twice the Hofner. It’s tuned to BEAD, but I still remembered how to play those riffs on it.
While playing Billie Jean, I sang,
“Co-vid is not my lover
She’s just a germ who tried to kill me but failed
That virus is not bad enough to kill BABG
She said I’m the one, but BABG lives on”
