TJ Thompson is a master luthier, one of the world’s best. I met him 18 years ago when I interviewed him for Acoustic Player Magazine.
In this video, TJ fixes the various issues with the problem-rich Fender Gold Foil Jazz, including an in-depth Plek analysis and fret leveling.
Kudos to Lobster for snagging an interview with a very reclusive master luthier.

By the way, TJ is a world-renowned expert on vintage acoustic steel-string guitars. He’s specialized in restoring and repairing classic Martins for decades.
His own TJ Thompson hand-builds are very rare and extremely prized for sounding like Martins from the early 20th century.
The epoxy color matching fill was cool!
The nail glue dryer spray used as a super glue accelerator was a neat trick too.

I, TJ, went back in time so that I could prevent myself from ruining my life with repairing vintage gear and - finally - realize my bass playing dreams.
It was worth disrupting the space-time continuum for this.

Yep, TJ is a virtuoso luthier. Getting even a glimpse video of him at work is quite a coup.
I know he isn’t @Gio though. He doesn’t have a blindfold on.
