Trying to find some new songs (death metal, prefer melodic) for a 4 string bass. Screaming preferred. I love Amon Amarth but everything except one song is on a 5 string or tuned down 4. TIA!

so you are asking for such songs with a standard EADG tuning? I imagine that will be tricky since so many metal bands downtune. I’ll see what I can dig up.

Hmm, Jason Stallworth has some elements of death metal and old school metal and is fairly adamant about using standard tuning (he only recently tuned a guitar to C#/Db and is selling his 7-string). Maybe check out Dragon’s Flame and see how that sounds to you? He does a mix of vocals on that song; singing, screaming, growls, etc

Get you a second bass and string it B-E-A-D.
not a perfect solution, but this things been an absolute godsend for constantly changing anywhere from E standard down to B standard often 
A bunch of us have done exactly this, BEAD is a fun tuning and I prefer it greatly over owning a 5-string.
