I really like charles berthoud. Not only is he amazing with an instrument in his hands, he’s clearly not bound by a huge ego about it.
I get that if you are in the handful of people who are considered possibly the best ever, you can strut a little. You put in the work, and you deserve a little ego-but there are a few (not naming the name and number I’m thinking of) that just seem like they want to rub it in.

I have the complete opposite impression, lol 
and >>for me<< Charles is one of (many) musical gatekeepers.
His skills are amazing, the level of virtuosity, but his ego is probably as much big…

I wouldn’t doubt for a moment that i could be seeing it badly.

I like Charles not only because of his virtuosity, but because he seems to be a genuine human being and not putting on an act. I like Davie504 for the exact opposite reasons. He is a virtuoso and has a humorous schtick.
