Metallica’s “one”with a difference

I wasn’t aware that there was no bass at all on the album “ And Justice for All “ but I reckon this makes up for it

“no bass” is apparently a thing with some metal bands.

I like Kiyoshi’s take better here

That was an excellent cover! :metal:

There was. Jason Newsted came on board before they started that album. For ‘reasons’ the bass was lowered in the mix till it was barely audible. You can read about it here…

Awesome.
Thank you @eric.kiser
I’m not a huge Metallica fan but I do enjoy reading about music stuff like that. It’s always something you can drop in a conversation to spice things up

I only just learned that the doors didn’t have a bass player. They had some sit in on some of the album’s, but they didn’t tour with one. Keyboards played bass with the left hand and the guitarist focused on staying in his low octave a bit more than he otherwise would have.

Interesting  I love this sort of stuff @BassFaceDisgrace :+1:

Man. I never put two and two together there but that just explained why The Doors always seemed thin-sounding to me, even when they were playing heavy. Thanks for pointing that out.
