So when we generically say this in A minor or E minor, do we mean natural minor (Am with no incidentals) or harmonic minor with raised 7th? I assumed that it meant natural but not sure ..

Yes. Natural minor unless otherwise qualified.

Jake Lizzo of Signals Music Studio fame (I highly recommend checking out his YouTube channel) has created two posters. The first one was for Modes of Major. It’s so good, that I bought it and had it mounted on heavy poster board with a wall hanger. It’s one of the few things I kept and shipped to France when I moved here from the U.S. A couple of years ago, he released a Modes of Harmonic Minor poster. I bought it and had it mounted the same way.
