I’m struggling with the speed of the module 5 full work -out,
I can just about manage the medium work -out, it’s not finding the notes, plucking technique or the theory, it’s the speed,
I’ve been doing the Bass Buzz 10 minute workout videos from YouTube and practicing with a drum loop to supplement the lessons,
Do i keep at it until i can do the full work -out or move on to module six?
Any tips or advice would be most welcome
You can move on and do the next lessons. Make a note to yourself to get back to this lesson later. After doing more lessons or after finishing the course, when you get back to it, it might be a lot easier. It is surprising how much we learn and progress with time. What feels very difficult now will eventually feel a lot easier!
Just don’t get stuck on that lesson, or it will feel frustrating. It is safe and encouraged to move on to the next lesson. ![]()
Move on
Bookmark the lesson and go back later and see where you are.
I’m on module 4 now and Josh said that if you can do the easy workout of each module you can move on to the next. You can always and come back later, don’t stress out.
Move on. Come back in a few modules to discover it wasn’t that hard.
Struggling with speed is a self-reinforcing spiral. The more you struggle, the more tense you get, the harder it is to play fast.
Move on. Relax. Come back later.
Two options.
- as others said move on and come back here and there to check in
- Start at same tempo as medium, move to a metronome. Bump up bpm 2 clicks, nail it, repeat.
Follow Josh’s advice. He gives tips all the way to the end.
