Multiple Bass Disorder (MBD)

One of those “passives” should be “actives”… Probably the second one.

Yeah, being dyslexic I transpose a lot, and in reading my mind fills in the blank and it looks right when it’s not.

People think it’s just scrambled letters but it’s not. I see words, just not always the words as written

I like both :man_shrugging:

I don’t really need an active now that I have gone all software but if you have a pedalboard it can be nice. Having a preamp at the very start of your chain can be useful.

They are probably most useful that way, as an additional preamp/EQ if you have a lot of effects.

Sold the Cort today and put the Squier up for sale. There’s nothing wrong with it, but I never really liked the natural finish and/or the maple fretboard… :flushed: If I can sell it for a decent price, I’m going to get myself a jazz bass that I really like. On the wish list are: dark fretboard, preferably rosewood, with pearloid block inlays, and a nice body color. Currently, I’m leaning towards Lake Placid Blue. Has to be passive. This could be the one that ticks all of those boxes:

G&L Tribute JB. Anyone have any experience with it?

Not with JB, but have had a few G&L. Tribute is great quality for the price (arguably better than Fender MIM), and the bridge is insanely good. I would expect in that price range that the pickups would be meh but easily upgradable. If you can, I would try to play or get weight before you buy, some tributes can weigh up to 10 lbs. Happy hunting.

G&L always catch my eyes in the store. Lake placid is really nice :+1:

I have played one in a shop. It plays so nice, and is so well made.
I love G&L’s.

But then again, I both LOVE and prefer maple fretboards, so YMMV

Awesome - totally dig that fretboard option!

Good luck with selling your basses… I find it is a buyer’s market right now, and there seem to be a lot of used basses available at the moment. Not getting much traction on the one I have on offer…

You just have to be lucky. I just sold two basses. Selling guitars, now that is a PITA.

I just sold one

Just took a massive hit selling my LTD guitar.
Still I wasn’t using it and with the flooding we’ve had increasing the price of hay funds were needed

I recently sold two basses without any hassle and for prices that were close to my asking price, so it’s not that bad.

In the meantime, another plan has emerged: I might be able to trade my 2008 Indonesian Squier Vintage Modified jazz bass for a 2008 Chinese Squier Classic Vibe jazz bass… A white one, with a tort (a.k.a. salami barf) pickguard. Always loved that color combo, and the Chinese Classic Vibe series is supposed to be very good.

Sorry to hear, @Mac - I am sure the horses appreciate it

Good job, @Mike_NL !

I have one. Always wanted a blue with white binding and rosewood. They are great. G&L really nailed the bridge. Feels great.

Just spent a couple of hours on this Ibanez Affirma. It’s a fun little bass for sure. It’s been in the case for 6 months or so. Need to let it out and breathe a little. Love the tapewound on it.

I definitely think it’s a great candidate for a multi scale re-issue/ refresh.

Very nice! For now, I’ll most likely be trading my VM for the white CV this Saturday. But thanks for the suggestion!
