Been playing through the “My Sharona” lessons over the past couple weeks (I’m kinda slow going through the lessons… >_<! ) and the other day I checked the song list and found the “My Sharona Extended” song and downloaded it. Gave the song a try last night and was surprised I got a 113 note streak! Of course, when you start off a song new it has fewer notes and adds more as you progress.
I braved the Fast Workout for “My Sharona” today and got smoked. But I’ll keep at it since I love that song.

In case anyone is interested, here’s the website for Sharona Alperin, the woman about whom the song was written. AFAIK, she never got one cent of the income My Sharona is still generating. At least she was clever enough to grab the mysharona.com domain for herself! Of course, the music that auto-plays on her homepage is, you guessed it, My Sharona!

I read up on her last night as I was looking up stuff for the song. 
I kind of dig, why Doug Fieger was obsessed with her!
Also it’s interesting, that zzzze Zzzeerman Wikipedia has this quote (translated): “The song was a metaphor for the sex I so desperately wanted to have with Sharona. It climaxed with Berton’s euphoric guitar solo.”
And the english Wikipedia has this one: “It was like getting hit in the head with a baseball bat; I fell in love with her instantly. And when that happened, it sparked something and I started writing a lot of songs feverishly in a short amount of time.”
I remember clearly when I heared it the first time, as my own interest in girls started blooming around that time (no correlation though) … and for motor bikes too (also no correlation).
I did not pursue the motor bike topic, but my other passion only grew
