Even though I am mainly practicing standing up, I use a drum stool and I swear by it, comfortable, height adjustable for decent posture and forces you to keep a straight back.

I have been using a Gibraltar throne for two years. I typically sit in it for 2 to 3 hours at a shot and I’ve found this to be quite comfortable for that period of time.

I don’t sit while I’m playing very often (usually it’s when I’m doing courses), but when I do, I use that Franklin also. I use a nice, thick memory foam pad with mine. That seat is just brutal if you don’t have enough padding built in already.

I have 2 recurring gigs one I sit and one I stand. Not gonna lie, standing is definitely more expressive but it comes at some cost of fatigue. Sitting is just comfortable, but no one sees you,

So I’m a big dude, 6’ 310lbs of meat and I also spend 12+ hours in my desk chair most days (my hobbies are also chair bound). I’m cheap and pretty particular about my chairs.
I found this one on AZ. It has pocket coils (like your bed) and a wide deep seat. The arms fold up too.
I’ve had mine for 6mo and it still seems alright.

I’ve bought this one. It’s adjustable in height and made for standing up as well. The top part tilts a bit when you’re standing so it doesn’t cut off the blood in your legs. It’s from Ikea.

I use this one…had the regular drum throne they sell but prefer this one with the wheels.
