Wonder why those guys are using a blackboard, where they’d need to stand on ladders for Pete’s sake? Surely they could have used Viewgraph (overhead projector) transparencies instead, which I know for a fact were used into the late 1980s, at least, in some places. I believe those could project onto a surface at least 2/3 as tall as that blackboard, and probably the full height if the surface was that high, and the projector was positioned correctly.
They could have put all those details onto one or more viewgraph slides, and used a grease pencil or something if they needed to update a figure on the fly.
At the least, get a classroom or meeting room which had several blackboards one after the other horizontally, as my fifth grade classroom had. No need for ladders that way.

I think I’d have been in with a chance at space flight but I was born too late and they had already found a better qualified candidate.
Also it didn’t work out too well for Ham.
