Noll tcm2 wiring help

My new preamp has just arrived and on reading the wiring instructions it states if the blend pot is not going to be used to wire the pickup directly to the volume pot.
Being a little dense I have no idea how to wire a pickup to a push/pull switch.
Help please :pray:t2:

Looks like your push pull volume pot. Is going from active 9v to passive no batteries. With this noll preamp. Seems like these come pre wired ready for 9 or 18 volt. I really don’t understand what your question is about hooking it up?

Did the kit come with 4 pots? Looks like the pick up get connected on balance pot which connects to volume and the noll controller. The blend pot is were your pick up are connected your using the Grey or white wire from controller to connect volume and pickups from blend.

I would ask Frankie bass tech @ bestbassgear
877-839-3531. I’m sure he works on these daily.

Hey @BigAl . Thanks for the reply.
What I’m trying to do is get rid of the blend pot and solder the directly to the volume pot.
So basically I need to find out what wire goes where.
I’ll drop Frankie an email :+1:

I found diagram for noll volume push pull . Hope this helps.

Not sure if this is the Volume push pull that came with your kit. Think that’s the Schematic you need to get rid of blend pot.

This was still doing my head in so I emailed Noll Electronics and received a reply from no other than the man himself Klaus Noll :scream: within 12 hours.
All explained and I’m ready to do surgery on the Ray4 tomorrow

I freaking love companies that respond to customer enquiries.

JAM pedals are superb in this regard and Noll are now added to my “pay attention to these guys” list.

Me too, man I tell you so many of late have been SUPER helpful.
There are a few that have been much less than responsive though, and they are going to fall off my radar for purchases for sure.

I just bought a blended two band preamp from Temu. Was planning on installing it in my jazz bass. About a week ago I decided to install it in my generic p-bass.

At first I had the split coil pickup wires negative and positive wires running straight to the battery. Got it all together plug it in the amp. Nothing it was completely dead. Put it back on the table. Took back apart figure out where the wires going to pick up would go. Then I had to take one split coil pickup, and make it two single coils. To work to the blender. Another amp and another cord. I plugged her into another amp with another cord. I got sound this time but I got a lot of hissing along with it sound. That’s two different amps and two different cords. I even zip tied the wires together and make kind of look more neat and more professional looking. Plus makes it easier to get the pick guard to lay flat on the body. Got it back on the table. Started taking her apart again. This time I was really perturbed. Cuz I had to cut the zip ties off the wires without f****** them up. I got it though I’m good. Well I have her apart on my table. I kind of lollygagging a b******* yesterday or the other day. Waiting For Amazon to show up with my packages. I bought the four hand helper. Plus the blue soldering pad.

Along with two 1 Meg pots. Well I’m supposed to be describe myself because it’s actually my profile. I’ll start telling you about my preamp I bought for my jazz bass. Decided to hook it up to my generic p-bass. Got it all hooked up. Nothing no sound no nothing not damn thing that. Figured out what it was. For her back on the table. Remove the pick up wires from the battery, and hooked up the negative and positive to the blend pot. Another amp and another cord I plugged her in. That sound this time not very loud though. Plus acquired a major hissing. When I pulled her apart this last time. I swapped out the original volume pot was a 500K. All right I’m going to stop right there cuz I have a feeling bouncing all over the place trying to tell you the story. That black bass with the pink strings sitting in the chair. That was my rogue SX 100b generic P bass. I paid $30 from some kid mom 35 mi from me. He brought it up to talk to me when I was in the hotel. Anyway that’s all I’m going to say about that I’m trying to figure this grandfathering up because I really want to install it my generic p-bass.
