Ok you camera guys

so I bought a camera to video my practice sessions. haven’t bought one in decades and I literally started giggling when I saw how ridiculously small and cute this is. but I need help mounting onto my cheapo tripod. I’m missing a screw on type base plate adapter thingy.
so I have this camera mount:

to attach to this tripod:

it comes with this adapter that would work fine:

but it’s adhesive mount and I need threaded

so can anybody tell me what mount would work or what it’s called so I can search for it?

not exactly sure but “standard” photo mounting hardware is 1/4-20 threaded bolts. is there a threaded hole on the bottom of the camera itself? then you could screw the bolt in the tripod directly to the camera.

of course not that would make everything easy for me

so the only thing on the camera are those two fins that slide into the base with the red adhesive bottom correct?

yes.

the problem here is I just didn’t know what to call it to search in Amazon. then I came across someone calling it a go pro adapter and of course now I found it.

the embarrassing part is the tripod came with one that I promptly tossed because I didn’t need it at the time. which is so me

Look for the GoPro mount. There are a full kit of mounts you can get. I have action 3 and 4 which use magnets the only issue I have with this otherwise excellent platform is the lack of audio in or mic in option. That said the DJI mic especially the current version is so good. The performance is off the chat when you use it for vlogging and even interacting between 2 or more subjects.

Sadly it’s not optimized for music covers. I wish DJI would recognize the opportunity and merge functions with something like a the Roland GoMixer pro X.

If it were me I would have put it in a safe place never to be seen again

there’s a bunch of videos online that seems to show you can use an external USB mic. I have seen various reports on how well this works so there does seem to be confusion with it. I haven’t even used it yet so I don’t know if any of this is even needed.

Well it’s really doesn’t really matter in the end I’d grabbed the audio from DAI and syncing it with the video even with the usb mic.

that was something i was also considering, helpful :+1:

I don’t think it matters much when making video covers, but if you’re recording bass for a song, this might be interesting for you.

If you record both the DI and a mic’d amp or amp sim (like Amplitube), you’ll have slight phase differences when you merge the signals. I use MAutoAlign from MeldaProduction to correct that. It’s way easier to use than InPhase by Waves.

One thing I would add is that playing with phase can be fun. You can make your bass sound much bigger and more present by adding a little panning and phase delay to a duplicated track, a la the Haas effect. Melda has another plugin that does just that, for example (MDoubleTracker)

I put my Boss GX-10 at the end of my chain (just before preamp / DI). Side tangent: I’m actually thinking about running my analog pedals off of the send / return on this box or the send / return on my SGT. The GX-10 has 2 outputs, so I plugged in my backup DI and run those into separate inputs on my mixer then to Garageband / Logic to try and take advantage of this.

Speak of the devil, I just received an email from MeldaProduction with their weekly Melda Madness sale on 4 plugins. MAutoAlign in one of them. 24 € instead of 49 €. Now’s the time. :+1:

MAutoAlign

Their stuff goes on sale all the time though - as to almost all plugins. Never buy plugns at full price
