One armed bass player Bill Clements

Since a lot of us are older and having various hand issues, I though you might find this video encouraging.

After loosing his right arm in an industrial accident, Bill Clements developed his own unique style of one handed bass playing.

Here’s my standard reply to the “small hands” excuse.

Audrey Anne is my go to reply / self-reminder that “small hands” is an unacceptable complaint :

Bill Clements is definitely an inspiration to me. Just watching him the words, “I can’t” go back down the throat. The guy has ONE arm. What possible excuse could I have? Where there’s a will there’s a way, which may also account for this gentleman’s unorthodox approach:

Ok I had to look him up because I had no idea what was going on there. So apparently he switched from violin to bass at around age 12, held the bass like a violin while learning to play, and then just went with it.

Here’s him explaining it (3 minutes into the video):

I feel like everything in my life has been a lie. There are gods among us.

Mind blown.
