He’s Italian, he plays for Alessandria Calcio
We Built This City was the song coming out of almost every window on move in day and the coming weeks of my first year of college. Every time I hear it I see exactly where I was standing the first day outside my building hearing it.
And yet I have no idea what I ate for lunch two days ago.
I have similar associations with other songs as well…but that’s not the same as saying you like this song.
I’m gonna go sit with Grace Slick - she doesn’t like it either

(Apologies to those who do like this song
)
One of my other hobbies is roasting my own coffee beans on a homemade rig I built from an old bread maker and electric heat gun.
I see no potential problems whatsoever

it consistently ranks highly, if not highest, on worst song ever
Looks like someone achieved a real dark roast. @Barney .
I swear to you, @Koldunya , I honestly, sincerely thought you were trolling us!
(the scars left by this song run deep)

Ah you found one of the Starbucks roasting plants!
Whether you love or hate We built this city…. you will love the Half Man Half Biscuit send up titled We built this village on a trad. arr. tune (track 14 on their difficult ninth album Achtung Bono).
We built this city is on every one of my union shirts
My other hobbies include modding motorcycles. I’ve just about finished the old Harley converting the rear end from a 130 to a 240 tyre
That is a super- bad-ass- great looking bike, @Mac ! . . .
Something I’ve always wanted to try, too! . . . . Hmmm . . . so black bikes are really faster than other colors, right?
Well, be careful out there on it, mate !
Cheers
Joe
Bright green Kawasakis are the fastest, always ![]()
Thank you @Jazzbass19 . It was a nightmare to do to be honest ( gearbox rebuild, incomplete kit, sourcing parts and of course a few bad late night eBay purchases that should have in theory fitted
)
I had a couple of Kwaks @Koldunya and they were fun. And a couple of really quick Suzukis too
I rode a green 2005 ZX-6R for a while. It was the only sportbike I could reach the ground on…

I went to school with a dude who used to have to lean on cars at the traffic lights to keep upright on his Yamaha 200
My old favourite Suzuki 1100 was a tip toe bike for me
I still couldn’t flat foot it, and usually leaned a bit to one side XD Good times.
I’ve only ever owned Kawasaki sportbikes. I miss my GPz 1100. Though I probably had more fun on my EX500’s.
If I were buying today - yeah, no question. Yamaha YZF-R1.
The GPZ 1100’s were great bikes. I had one for a while as well as the 900. 80’s cool for sure.
The R1 is just a road legal missile .
I’ve wanted a R1 for like 20 years. So good. Super well made, very quick, light, yet not an ergonomic monster to wrangle like a GSX-R or something. Still not the most comfortable bikes though for sure.
But really an R6 would be fine and still overkill for me, especially these days.
