Plucking technique question left handed

I’m on module 4 of the course and instinctively I start my alternate plucking with my middle finger instead of my index. I’m not sure why , might be because I’m left handed but it feels more comfortable. Is it ok to start with either finger if I ensure I’m alternating?

It is totally fine to use alternate fingering starting with middle finger.

Ultimately, in a perfect world, you’d have control over that aspect of playing, and it would be a choice, blah blah, etc.

But as long as you’re alternating and it feels good, and you’re able to cross strings and play the things you need to play and they sound good, you’re doing great.

Happy playing to thee,

Most of the time, it won’t matter.

Occasionally, you’ll have a run where it helps to pluck in a particular order so that one finger or the other is free to switch to a different string. If I’m doing a 2 string jump, I prefer to do that with my middle finger. So you want to work backwards to start with one particular finger or another.
