Glad I could help! Ummm…so is it worth it? I might grab it too!
Will try it later
I tried a demo via UA. I liked it (mind you I also own real GK amps) but the price tag is too much for a plugin that I don’t use that often. I got the Ampeg bundle on sale and I think that one is a really good buy. Gotta admit that the Unison+ sound/technology from UA is next level if you have a UA audio interface, but I just don’t like ecosystems at all…
Nice, with this purchase I got a new deal for buying another plugin for $30, so I got the SVT (again)
30% off sale for Line 6 software until 30th March

iZotope sale:
I’ve spent enough money on plugins in the last couple of months to buy another nice bass
Monday, it seemed like every second post on FB was a plugin sale lol
@howard tell me if I’ve got this right. watched a couple kilohearts vids and I think I’ve got it. you can buy the individual snapins like distortion and use them like any other standalone plugin in your daw? or you can buy one of the hosts, like multipass, along with some snapins and the host integrates the snapins together? sort of like buying one pedal vs buying a pedalboard and a bunch of pedals. so the hosts are optional? and do the hosts also integrate into your daw, or do you run the host separately as a standalone, side by side with your daw?
SnapIns can be used independently like normal VST plugins, or in SnapIn hosts.
There’s six free SnapIns you can download now.
You can buy SnapIns individually (expensive) or in one of their packages (much cheaper) or subscribe and get everything for $10/month (by far the best option until you are certain you want to buy in, or maybe even forever - they kick back $100 in coupons for each year subbed too).
SnapIn Hosts are aslo VST plugins you can use like any other. There’s basically three SnapIn hosts:
SnapHeap: free, a cool parallel effects chain that lets you essentially build effects chains of SnapIns. It also has other cool stuff like builtin LFOs and envelopes for triggering and modulating effects.
MultiPass: A 5-band multiband frequency splitter that does the same thing as SnapHeap but allows you to map the individual effects chains to frequency bands. Might be my favorite thing ever.
Phase Plant: Their top-tier synthesizer. It loads and uses SnapIns for its effects.
MultiPass and Phase Plant are not free, nor are most of the SnapIns. However they have a generous initial trial and their subscription is a great way to try them for a couple months.
thank you sir, i think i will sign up for the trial at some point. after i figure out how to use 27 other things i have bought.
Hey, Arturia fans - was Pigments 3 a free upgrade? It looks like mostly incremental improvements to Pigments 2.
They’ve made a really nice looking synth. Definitely probably the most visually appealing software synth. I’m more than covered with Phase Plant but Pigments is a solid choice too.
Oh I haven’t seen this upgrade. I have been slacking on my synth… I just signed-in on the site to check my account.
Way to go Arturia! I’m thinking about that sound pack tho, 500 presets for only 19 euros
Awesome!
And yeah, that’s a good deal. I just paid $30 for 50
Just checked a bunch of them out. They are really good. I wish I had more time and focus… For Pigment 3 they added a few new features and extra content:
I really dig Pigment as my go-to synth software. I can only compare it with Sylenth, Massive and the factory plugins from Ableton.
Pigments is really nice. It was a close call between it and Phase Plant for me when considering just the synth itself.
This looks promising
Selling for $199 in the shop.
RIP, Plugin Alliance “official” SVT sim
I actually like SVT-VR though, it’s a decent amp sim. Not my favorite but pretty damn good.
I like that the user interface resembles the Neural DSP plugins. This seems a lot more user friendly (especially picking a cab + mic) and kinda cool they added 5 stompbox effects too.
I wouldn’t dismiss them so fast, Brainworx knows their stuff.
For me, it’s 1. Sylenth1 (It sounds insanely good in the context of its CPU usage and after so many years of use I can dial any subtractive sound available in a heartbeat) 2. Massive (I know this synth the best -> I can do anything I can think of in this one. ) and 3 was a draw between Voltage Modular from Cherry audio and Pigments from Arturia. But the modular won here, because the most interesting thing about Pigments is its UI which I could do without because I know synthesis quite well, and as such, it’s not as important to me. But for 70 bucks with 5 expansions, it was a steal. All the presets alone are probably worth the asking price.
