Tonight I thought I would get the Hofner out and bust out an old school dance number : Minuet 1 from Bach’s Suite for Violinocello No.1 (BWV 1007)
It took a few goes to record and the yes I fluffed a couple of notes but generally I’m pretty happy with the result. The more you work with a piece like this, the more it reveals itself to you - you can experiment a lot with different phrasings, speeds and timings and when you hit a wrong note it can sound pretty cool. So the version I’m playing now will probably not be the one I’ll be playing next year ![]()
Must mention I worked from Heiko Jung’s transcription - I made a couple of minor changes to make the fingering easier but it’s 99% his work…
I wasn’t sure about the tempo - there wasn’t a bpm on the transcription so I researched some minuets on line and decided to favour going a bit slower than in other vids on youtube.
