I heard this last week in work and thought, now that’s fun song to play. My Jazz Bass (which I completed this week) was made from new parts and built up from scratch. I’m happy how it turned out. If you’re interested, the details are in this link below.
I didn’t look up the sheet music for this. I found the chord progression (Chordify website - Johnny Cash - Cocaine Blues Chords - Chordify) and then made my own bass line up. Root, fifth, the odd third and the obligatory country walk up / walk down. Happy to get to a point in my playing where making this stuff up isn’t a stretch.
I started playing Bass in Nov 2020.
