Great cover Jerry @JerryP ,
Sounding more and more like you are part of the Beatles, very cool,
Cheers Brian
Well played @JerryP
Timings good, I like the tone and as usual you look so damn relaxed.
You certainly have cemented your place in the cover masters hall of fame
I managed to get back with another transcription today with some more Silk Sonic the song is Fly as me. I played this with my Fender Active Jazz V with the Labella Gold Alloy flats through my TC Electronic head then into the interface. I have to wear a players glove due to the nerve damage in my hand from the crushed discs in the C3 and C4 part of my neck. This was nothing fancy just recorded from my iPhone and mated to the audio which was recorded in Logic Pro. Feels good to be able to practice some again
Awesomeness @LesterH
Never heard of this band until you started posting, I have some listening homework.
Very funky groove.
Can I ask what your tone/pickup settings were?
@John_E I had the pick ups dead center, mid boosted slightly, treble rolled back most of the way, bass right in the middle of that makes any sense at all lol
Groovy!
Thank you
Most funky @LesterH . Made it look so easy and you were most certainly in the groove throughout
Thank you @Mac i appreciate it bro!
Love it @JerryP this 8th notes get tricky some time and you nailed it. By the way how do you count? I donāt see any indication of foot tapping. I was rocking my head listening to that an wonder how you keep your time. Thatās great my man.
Oh man @LesterH love it! My kind of funk. Love the double stops bits to. Great mix. You nailed the strings muting. Itās a b!tch on this song for sure. Love it!
Ok I gave up of editing multiangle, A/B audio track. Iām sure itās not a difficult task but I gotta do some research. Anyways, I got them on separate video. Love the short scales the low tension strings and extra low end really fun to play. Both are 30ā scale
I included the bassless track if anyone wants to jam along. It also has chords running. Pretty convenient.
Enjoy.
First one is the Sterling by Musicman short scale.

The second one is the Fender American Performer Mustang Bass

Like the tone of the Mustang over the sterling, just a warmer sound imo.
You did a great job on both
It just doesnāt sound like Paul Rodgers on vocalsā:thinking:
to me.
Cheers Brian
Thanks @TNKA36
Quite funky @LesterH Lester⦠Great timing and really nice fingering from both handsā¦
@Griff Thank you brother! You can show that one to your wife since she is a Bruno Mars fan it is his band after all.
Thank you Brian
Thanks it is a tricky one for sure it isnāt perfect but a lot of fun to learn.
I agree with Brian I like that tone of the short scale Mustang those are great basses.
