in my opinion : every way of muting is good to know and use. there are various techniques and sometimes you don’t have much choice, but in any case you always need to mute the strings that are not supposed to vibrate. so, every muting technique is good to know and master.

I love everything about that cover, @Lanny… Especially the tone you’re getting out of that P bass! But I’m also completely in awe of your technique. It reminds me that I still have a long way to go.

Thanks @Mike_NL…. We all have a long way to go…. Hell, I’ve only been playing bass since July of 2019 when I bought my first bass and signed up for the B2B course……

The bass lines really aren’t that hard to learn to play by ear as long as you listen to the song enough. I never hit anything “note for note” because I like to play how “I” feel - besides, good Southern Rock (or Rebel Rock as we refer to it) down here in Georgia is never meant to be played the same way anyway!! …

Thanks Brian @TNKA36…. That was the goal on this one…. Lowest note played was an open E…. highest note played was an 11th fret G…. Stayed within “Bass” territory without crossing over in “Guitar” world….

That was REALLY, REALLY GOOD @mahtab…. Although I don’t know the song or the movie, you certainly did the song justice!! Great tone and you nailed the bass line! I love the addition of the video, and I could tell that you were really into the groove…. Great job!! Thanks for sharing!!

great finger work around the fretboard, just that little thing at 2.14, you know, cuz i saw you smile, but it did not detract from your performance, had you not smiled no one would ever have known.
