I really like your bass tone ! the low end is deep yet very tight, which is not easy to get at the same time. Also those all-instruments covers are still very impressive !

Nice work! That is such a fun song to play. I play the main riff most times I pick up the bass. Kim Deal rules.

Definitely sounds good recorded into GB. The default amp/cabsim they use for bass sounds really good for this song.

This sounds great @Paul_9207, The Pixies just make me happy whenever I hear them, really nice finger work on this super-cool bassline :sunglasses:

OK gang…
Whenever I come back to New Jersey it’s time to show the Hofner a little love, so here it is. And of course, it’s a Beatles cover.
Enjoy!

Damn perfect @JerryP !!
Sounds great, looks great, mixed great.

Do you have the lighter gauge flats or heavier on that?
And are they La Bella?
I put the heavier on my new one and I think I need to go to the light ones, the E string is crazy boomy on mine.

Have you tried a pick on any Beatles tunes?
Bathroom Window is where I broke into picking on the Hofner.
Beatles tunes on the Hofner are really great places to start on a pick, and some really need it to get the tone (not on this though, you nailed it really well anyway).
I didn’t do as well with a pick on the Rick for Mean Mr. Mustard so plucked instead, but want to go back and redo that once I get picking/muting better on that one.
Something about the Hofner makes it a bit easier I think. Maybe short scale or easier to palm mute the strings or something.

Really great job on this!

Thanks a lot @John_E !
I’m using the heavier gauge strings currently, but I have a set of light gauge I have not tried yet.
My earlier covers were with picks and I may go back to using them.
I spent more time playing with the compressor that comes with Reaper. I think that helped a lot, also I took the audio file and played it on as many platforms as I could find. I really like how the tone came out on this one. Thanks again!

Nice cover @Paul_9207 ,
Dont know the song, the bass fitted nicely in the mix and you look really relaxed getting around the fret board.
Cheers Brian
