Thanks so much for those kind words Al! I really liked the pick tone as well, it felt like cheating a little bit! I think this song is meant to teach string crossing with fingerstyle. Picking brings a different challenge in muting though I really enjoyed playing it that way.

Two more covers and I’m halfway through the list! :sunglasses:

It’s been a busy week of early starts, late finishes and no bass. But finally sat down with a coffee and worked my way through my favourite thread of the forum.

Thanks to @Ant @cheeze_pizza @beaurapp for an enjoyable listen.

Things I enjoy are the little details like @JerryP’s extended range music stand made out of old cardboard boxes. Something for us old time forum users to savor the details. Very nice Jerry, lovely playing.

One of my favorites from the challenge, nice job hitting all those funky timing nuances. I never tried it with a pick but it sounded great that way!

I thought I would have more time with the kids back in school, but that seems to not be the case. Really wanted to get this one recored though. One take on the bass and one take on the drums, well one and a half. I had to start over after a cymbal stand came loose. I should have probably done another one after that, but it was getting late.

This is the third time I’ve posted a cover of this song on my YouTube channel. I must really enjoy playing this one. I’ll probably do another one when I learn how to play guitar some day.

That’s some killer bass tone Paul! I never get tired of that song.

Nice, I used to play this on guitar a long time ago. I remember it being a fun song to play, even if I can’t recall exactly how I played it lol.

Awesome @Paul_9207 loved it

Wanted to learn a song that wouldn’t take me so long this time, been meaning to get to this one for a while. I learned it by ear so I’m not exactly sure how accurate this is but it sounded pretty good to me. Will probably do this one again at some point, but the fingers hurt and I’m happy with it. Hope the bass comes through as clearly as it did on my headphones.

One of my favorite 90’s one hit wonders, and a beautiful singer who sadly ended his own life far too soon.

Had some good fun with that one! I almost grabbed the fretless but in the end it felt better to play my Jino Bass.

I still remember when that music video was played on MTV frequently! Great tune and awesome playing man! Very fine looking bass as well.
