This song is from the movie Mr. Right. I don’t know if they wrote the song for the movie or not, but it’s played throughout the movie. The bass line is really fun to play and I even get it right about 30% of the time.
This is my first cover with this Schecter Omen Extreme - 4. I really like this bass. Fun and easy to play and it’s very light which is nice.
Hahahahahahaha. Thank you but no. I’ve been on a food binge! That said, growing back the hair and going full beard Vs long grey goatee does make the younger thing happen.
Hmmmm. I am just about ready to go short goatee after seeing myself walking past a shop window last week. Degenerate hillbilly is a vastly overrated look!
About a week of tweaking every time I practiced it, I must have futzed with the pickup switch a dozen times. Even took the rotosounds I had on the music man off and put boomers, started all over again. Those were the last non boomer rounds I have on a bass, less the NYXLs on the Marcus Miller.
@John_E Awesome, that was one of the first songs I played with my buddies, when we had a “band”. Behold start of 2021, and trying to sound like a band. Those were funny times. Btw you did great.
@Paul_9207 That’s groovy, also could not to notice you had a helper. Must be a sound guy when not doing choreography huh?
@Barney Yay, another one for job site! Thanks man!
I thought my next cover was going to be House Of The Rising Sun, and after reading the comments in the 50 song challenge thread I saw that everyone struggled with it to some degree and many hate the song - now I understand why. What a crappy bass line lol, so after making it 3/4 of the way through and not being able to stand the song any longer I decided to work on a cover of a song I actually love and want to play.
This one was the most difficult to transcribe so far but was extremely rewarding. I couldn’t quite figure out exactly how it was played but I’m feeling quite confident my transcription is accurate.
I had a hell of a time playing this one cleanly. There was a lot of frustration with a ringing open A and I had to work really hard to sneak my ring finger in there for muting purposes (you can still hear a few rings in there which make me sad), but after a couple of days of practice I was able to get one pretty solid take, so I would like to share with you guys. I’ve only listened to this one on my Alexa and my crappy headphones, curious how it sounds on real speakers
