Dashed another one out this evening. It’s been an emotional day and I needed a release!
ZZ Top - Sharp Dressed Man
This is ZZ Top’s Sharp Dressed Man, played on my Spector NS2000/4, straight into the Scarlett Solo and then on into GarageBand. The rest of the track was pulled in via Moises.
This is a pretty easy song to play, but I love the groove, it’s just so satisfying!! The main challenges are the two bridges, one 19 bars long and the second 20 bars long…I have to count!!
Anyway, turning it up! The bass is pretty full on in the mix

I drew up what I wanted and had a carpenter build so it just slides into the existing double closet…holds my extra drums, cymbals , basses, pedals, mics, etc

I’ve been working on a Derek and the Dominos tune as well, and seeing @401Blues wonderful rendition of Have You Ever Loved A Woman gave me the motivation to go ahead and get the recording done.

Thanks John. I played in lots of bands here in Kalamazoo from 1989 until 2008 and then for a while again around 2014-15. I’m actually enjoying just doing the YouTube thing for now, but I have a buddy who I do some recording with from time to time.

Soft Cell - Tainted Love
While Soft Cell’s version of the Northern Soul classic, Tainted Love is an early 80s analogue synth based song, I think a bit of analogue bass works a treat on it!
Given the songs era, I simply had to play the 80s inspired Steinberger and in homage to Marc Almond, wear black! Resisted the eyeliner though

Thanks! This is a Warwick Rockbass Streamer LX. I’ve only had it for a grand total of three days, so can’t offer much more than an initial impression. Build quality, sound, and feel are all great. I need to figure out how to dial the preamp in. Neck thickness is somewhere between a Jazz and a P, which is fitting given the pickup configuration.
