Meant to reply also about the Jackson. Yes sir I am a huge Jackson bass fan. Mine is a Dave Ellefson model, and it is the bomb so to speak! I use it for most of my covers. The EMG pickups are great, and it plays great :+1:

Question about the EMG set up… does it have active / passive ( push / pull ) control?

On my J2SP, which has actives (not emgs tho)… I can select active or passive… I save batt life, by playing 99% of the time passively. :stuck_out_tongue:

No push/pull function, but I don’t burn through batteries believe it or not. I use a good one too, like Duracell or energizer.

See … the prob with mine… ( I like to keep mine jacked in… ready to grab… right next to me )… I left it jacked, and in active… which sucked the batt DRY. There is a trigger lever in there, that switches the actives ON, if the jack is in. The pullout disables that

Edit: the reason I was asking… Is I was considering putting EMGs on this… but without the passive option… hard pass. I like the passive option. :stuck_out_tongue:

To be honest it may work with EMGs, you’d have to research that brother. I just don’t know

Thanks. Tricky tune with a lot of little differences to remember!

Nice work man! I’m working on She right now and those 2 basslines feel sooo alike to me. Good hammer on practice.

Awesome!! Can’t wait

I forgot just how quick this tune was … LOL!! This is why we make these vids tho… so we can see our improvement

Oh I didn’t mean for a cover but maybe I’m stuck down by one now

I need to do more covers I’m just spending 99.9% of my time learning songs. I haven’t even made time for b2b lately :frowning:

I wish I could record audio and video at the same time instead of doing it with zoom and reaper separately. That would make things quick enough to record all of my sessions.

Do you have a laptop? If so … a very inexpensive DAI will do… and OBS ( the video recorder ) will fix that for you

Oh I have an interface in just saying using 2 apps for video/audio sucks. I record video with zoom and audio with Reaper and then I use Davinci resolve to edit (which I really don’t like).

I might try to reinstall Ableton and use that instead of reaper. I just wish I could still use Windows movie maker that used to be easy.

See OBS does both at once … takes the feed from the DAI … and DONE. 1 recording… and its over

I was doing something like that early on, recording in Garageband and photo booth at the same time. I found that I prefer doing audio and video in separate takes. I can screw up and have to redo audio as many times as it takes and not have to put on the bass face until I have that done. After that, just glue them together in iMovie and export.

This is why I use OBS … it does it all

I get you can re-master the audio… but I’m not doing these for perfection

I do these so I can track my progress

But doesn’t that mean that that the fingering/plucking is not in synch with the video sometimes, if you “improvise” a little?

see … I couldn’t do that … There is an ethics thing… like you pointed out…

What happens in the vid, is what’s happening in the audio. :stuck_out_tongue:

edit: if I suck, then I suck… :stuck_out_tongue: Oh well… moar practice lol
