Darius Rucker - Wagon Wheel
A bit of a departure for me…some country!!
This is Darius Rucker’s Waggon Wheel.
I am hoping to dep for a mate, in his band, in a few weeks time and this is one of the songs I need to learn!
Oh, he sent me a video of him playing it. He plays constantly moving quarter notes - he’s just completed a walking bass line course - but I think it sounds overplayed, so I went back to the original for inspiration, where the line is mainly the root note on the 1 and 3, with the odd 5th thrown in and some fills. I think I need to add a little more colour into what I’m playing, but I’ll work on that over the next couple of weeks…
Squier CV 50s P Bass Bass into GarageBand via my Ampero. I put a bit of foam under the strings at the bridge to mute them.
