Parov Stelar - Booty Swing
Aria Pro II 313 Detroit into the Hotone Ampero, then on into GarageBand.
This was a request. I’d never heard the song before, but it’s cool in a 1920s kinda way

Heck yeah!
I’ve never heard that one before either… looks like its fun tho… cool groove to it
Great job @sunDOG
LOVE THIS! What a way to start a Saturday! Made me feel as if I was back as a kid in the very early ‘50’s watching an old black and white Disney cartoon, or watching Jim Carrey in the movie Mask…… Oh, great job getting that old double bass tone also…
Keep on Thumpin’!

First time hearing this one, sounds fun! How is the Aria treating you?
Such a great drummer-who-also-happens-to-sing! And nice cover @Buzzin_Canada-John !
Slaying the Billie Jean dragon…well done! This has to be the module with the most questions and rantings to Josh. So you should feel really good about how you played that song.
Nice and clean playing…enjoyed the groove. Never heard the song before and I like it…it’s catchy.
I’ve got 2 kids that grew up going to the Disney parks, so we’ve probably listened to that song 100 times. Great song. Well played…(I like the slides). Gotta show my son this cover but will run the risk of him requesting me to start covering Disney songs!
Like every other time… I played it better before hitting ‘record’ that damn camera is cursed! CURSED I tell you! LOL!! Thanks
Can’t wait to hear your Hakuna Matata ( that has a really good bass line in it btw! )
And thanks again
Come On Baby Let’s Go Downtown - Neil Young & Crazy Horse
From the album Tonight’s the Night (track recorded live at the Fillmore East). Danny Whitten on lead vocals.
Great job John! Better than I could do it.
That was so much fun! Has that cartoon sound to it.
Great tone and playing, John.
You are just cranking out those Neil Young tunes! Great job, JohnF!
Thanks, Jerry! Enjoy the weekend!
I miss that whole era… music was REAL then … effects were plug into a different amp, with different settings… no sampling, no looping… just show up and PLAY.
Thanks for bringing more of this back into the light. Great job!
I have one similar and use clamps to stretch the sides and a couple weights on the bottom to help stretch the screen down. Also, before I record, I run an iron on the steam setting over it and it helps steam out any wrinkles in the fabric from being folded.
Yeah, the 70’s (and late 60’s) had some amazing music. I like the Crazy Horse stuff because they just loved to jam and let the guitarists stretch out. Sometimes the bassist is just laying down the groove and not getting in the way of the guitarists and that is fun for me.
Thanks for listening to it!
Wait, are you playing the first F# of the phrase on the E string instead of up on the D? The way Josh teaches it (and in the 50 songs pack), has the higher F#. Does that lower one make the song easier?
Josh teaches the second iteration of the riff… the way the song opens … is different than what comes later (Mod 4-Lesson 6)
Opening riff:
After the first verse / bridge it goes to the same riff as the lesson, and stays there until the end.
Riff for rest of song:
That works well if you have the space for the side poles or complete frame. I don’t have the space due to the location of the screen, but I think some weights on it when it is in use would certainly help
Actually @Vader @Buzzin_Canada-John there is a rumour that the riff uses both…
