Oh cool, they’re playing in my city in the summer, I’ve been debating whether to see them. Very tempted.
Great sounding cover
There’s a section of Orion that I’m practicing at the moment where I have to do the same

Wow!! Ton of great covers posted over the past few days…. Been busy with a new project that my band “SWAMPFOX” is involved in. This one’s got me not only on bass, but also on rhythm guitar and drums…
Keep on Thumpin’!
Lanny
Lanny,
Last night I started reading the new book “The Swamp Fox… How Francis Marion Saved The American Revolution”. Was a childhood hero due to Disney’s tv show back in the '50’s. And now today I see one of my bass-buds has a band named after him. Fill me in on how/why you chose the name. Has there been a thread here called Band Names and Their Meanings? Might be fun.
Definitely worth going to if you like the music! I’ve loved them since I first heard them back when my older brother got a copy of Around The Fur…oh how I miss the 90’s…
Great job Ant! Nice tone.
Exactly, I have fond memories of Around the Fur
Around the Fur and Adrenaline were (are) incredible albums. I’ve got a lot of fond memories attached to both albums.
Green Day - American Idiot bass cover
Another song that needs no introduction and I thought it only right I use the precision on this cover!
Squier Classic Vibe 50s p bass into the Ampero, then on into GarageBand.
That rocked, Duncan! Some serious bass face going on!
Hope Sandoval and The Warm Inventions - Salt of the Sea
I’ve got a top shelf glockenspiel player accompanying me on this track.
That was awesome, Duncan! Great job!
That was mellow John! Very well done!
Great playing and song choice Duncan. Your playing is so tight with the drum on this one. Only critique I’ve got is that I think this one could have used your double tracking trick to give the low end some oomph. You got lost in the mix a teensy bit.
Great job, such a good song. I’ve had a crush on your glockenspiel player since I was 15. Still do. I love her voice. I’ve been kicking around with a song she did with Mercury Rev the last few days.
Looking forward to hearing your bass cover of the Mercury Rev/Hope collab cover! She sounds amazing on that song. Yeah, I love the song Salt of the Sea…there are some live shows on YT where they open with that song and it is just magic.
…and by the way…this was hilarious …definitely not something one hears often!
I think everyone did.
This was a fun one. It’s a Sharon von Etten song that the Idles covered on disk 2 of Sharon’s album. Both versions are good but I’m an Idles fan and know the song because of them. Effects wise, I went fuzz into Chorus, into EQ, compression, then OD. I tossed in the delay feedback at the end off of my parallax.
Idles - Peace Signs
Hey great cover you two! With a very Caribbean flavour
