Wow! That was awesome Paul! Great first song! And, as always, great video production!
Great effort, @Paul_9207 and what a journey, eh!?!
My only suggestion would be to really consider the power of a bridge - different harmony, different groove, different feel. And then, when you re-introduce the original theme/riff, it will be so much more effective.
hey thanks @joergkutter !! I probably will try to add a bridge on the next song. I think I just needed to get one finished and behind me.
I actually released my first ever album last week!
Not a ton of me playing bass on it, though I’m happy with the bass playing on the final track. But that’s all me, weird as many may find it.
Congratulations on your first album release.
I like the atmospheric sound on The Anomalist.
Way Cool @ZeroLucksGiven
Cheers
And here is our latest original tune

Just realized I forgot to “like” it. Fixed ![]()
Second “single” out now on Bandcamp and (already or very soon) on all streaming platforms as well:
This one, for me, was about exploring “nice” (non-diatonic) chords and their movements.
That was really nice Joerg! Very well done.
Incredible - Like Smooth , Real Smooth - Well Done
Cheers
Very nice Joerg! Our band has a similar style. When your group does a U.S. tour we’d be happy to open for you.
Well done!
Thank you, @JerryP , @travis.thepadre.reed and @gottaplay - glad you liked it ![]()
Do you have links to your music??
Haha, yeah… one problem - no group, all hired guns here. I would need to hire locals for a US tour ![]()
Joerg,
We have more in common than I realized. My “band” consisted of one long-ago, reconnected keyboard friend and “hired guns” as well. I hadn’t played bass for 50 years after quitting in 1974 to focus on family and business. Last winter I thought it would be fun to try again with a simple goal… start a band, play once in my hometown, then record a CD to prove it happened. My friend found the other musicians… we had eight monthly rehearsals… promoted our own concert opening for a “real” jazz band… made the CD a month later… then called it quits. Goal achieved. Six months later we got asked to play at an open mic night, so with rehearsal the day before, the band played again… twice as many times as planned. A few “guns” want to try it again so with two new members we’ve been sending original material to each other to prepare for a live rehearsal sometime in the future.
I would love to connect by email and discuss our similar music journey that would most likely be too lengthy, boring and band specific for the forum. In the mean time, you can hear two of our arrangements on the band website by going to www.tunband.org (Headphones required for bass audio) There’s a Get In Touch form on the website plus my direct email and phone if you would like to continue our conversation. As an incentive, I would love to send you a copy of the CD by mail so I could then say “we have fans across the globe”. ![]()
