Nice playing @Old_WannaBe.
This is a practice thread, not a perfect thread.
I took a sax lesson from Grace Kelly who said one of her college instructors told her “If I walk by a room with you practicing in it and it sounds good then you are not practicing properly”.
I have a tough time with really fast stuff, kudos for your ability!
I think your input gain might be too high though, I think I hear it distorting and maybe clipping?
Ack! Just realized I did not respond to your post; thank you for sharing your cover! Lots of memories here, too. And lots of work went into your production - great job!
I just finished module 2 today!
started learning Kiss Me More by Doja Cat and have some timing mistakes as I’m learning the tabs as I play. But I’m feeling good about it.
Also when I reached the end I wasn’t convinced it was the end (it felt short), while I was distracted I missed the last note. Classic moment.
Hey @xtrixart very cool. Hands look great to me.
I’m very jealous of your fretting hand.
This is a good tune to work with for getting in the pocket of the groove.
Timing is good in some parts spot on but others sounds a bit rushing the beat. If anything laying back would suit the tune well.
It’s a funky bass line, try to ‘feel it’ and play it.
Thank you! Yeah timing seems to be the hard part for me. I was definitely rushed in some parts as I was looking back and forth between my fretting hand and the tabs, and would lose sight of where the tabs were (because they roll across the screen). Hopefully soon I won’t have to check my fretting finger placement as much!
Thank you! I found that I play really loud/pluck too hard if my amp is too low, or if I’m unplugged (which is how I was playing for the first two days). Module 1 really helped with that.
My current philosophy is to be as lazy-- I mean, as efficient, as I can be. So not using any more force than necessary when playing. I hope this doesn’t come back and bite me in the a$$ but it’s been very helpful for me.
That’s really good, module 2?!? Keep it up!
I think that the minor issues would fix themselves as you memorize the song and can focus more on playing and not reading… it seems that you have the right mindset to tackle this
