Very well done @wellbi !
I couldn’t hear it initially. Then I turned the volume on/up on my phone
Nice job @wellbi
@JDDaniel Nice playing! Nice axe as well is that a Kickass bridge on there?
Not sure which video you’re referring to(?) but the only bass I have (I think anyway) that has the kickass bridge is my Mike Dirnt Signature P-Bass.
@JDDaniel red Fender jazz. Your first video posted in this thread. Back in Aug last year……
Found it…it is a “4-Saddle HiMass Vintage” bridge.
So I finally made a recording setup.
The neck cam is great, but I have to figure out the “body” cam better.
It’s just a little practice bit. Any advice regarding recording setup or technique is appriciated.
Sounds nice @wellbi ,
Nice tone from your bass,
Cheers Brian
Sounds good @wellbi !
OK. Just managed to get my preamp feeding into my Behringer mixer/DI and that into GarageBand.
The setup is:
Donner P-clone with GHS Precision Flats
Harley Benton Bass Expander preamp (preamp on, compressor on, threshold set 50%, comp set 25%)
Behringer Xenyx 302 USB
GarageBand, clean
Halfway through I flipped the famed “$0 Producer Switch”.
I’ll actually try to record something rather than farting around. Just testing for now.
Nice to hear you @MC-Canadastan….and so it begins.
Cool way to throw that producers switch in with your first mix

Nice job @MC-Canadastan
Got one up on me with the BD-21. I’ve had mine out of the box, stared at it and then put it back in its box. Technology terrifies me. Give me guns and ammo any day
Oh yes, I’m definitely more mechanical and chemistry-centricl than electronic.
When I hooked up all this stuff, I twiddled buttons and dials this way and that way, sat there thinking WTF there’s no sound, etc. It turned out that the problem was a loose wingnut on the steering wheel. I forgot to insert the RCA jacks in all the way.

You play very well with your thumb. Is that from years of playing guitar? or something that you just picked up and it felt correct.
Good job either way
There’s not a single E string note, I cannot reach it atm. … so this is a little jam around notes I can actually reach without my elbow exploding. It’s still fun even limited like this
After a while some bass playin’
So, here is my first attempt at recording a cover of Ocean’s Avenue by Yellowcard. Timing is off in a lot of places due to a combination of me needing a lot more work on it and recording it while watching the Songster moving tab and then adding the song sound file. Also have a few flub spots Mostly, I just wanted to show off my DIY bass some more. Starting to really grow on me. Sound is straight into the DI.
I will get it better, I promise!
