Can’t wait to hear it!

I’m definitely turning on to the plug ins effects, It can be a pain using physical racks.

I’ll never go back.

I found a tab for Bach’s Air and I thought hey why not try the music from the Hamlet Advert

Unfortunately it’s way more difficult than I thought, but hey maybe it could merit a Practice Fragment.

I should give a mention to the tab writer, although I had to change the key to get it to fit the Jacques Loussier version

And, obviously, it needs to be played on a Rickenbacher :joy:

Great fragment - great exercise!

Of course
Seriously though this was tough. Matching the timing to the piano was difficult, and if I ever go “off script” I’m completely lost. Definitely a quest to revisit when I’ve levelled up a bit

Not a whole cover and not the best sound quality, but I’m proud of this short piece nonetheless. I’ve been playing for 2,5 week now (18 days to be precise) and I’m having so much fun! I figured I’d record with my phone and upload it here.

I hope the link works: 20240906 Still Loving You - Scorpions.mp4 - Google Drive

That awesome @NeuroticBalance. Nailed the notes. Just have to work it til it settles under your fingers then it will sounds natural.

Thanks! Yes, I have to work hard to play it all right now, but one day it will look and sound effortless.

So I’ve been pretty busy with work and 4 new born puppies whom like to wake up about half and hour before my alarm.

I’ve been working on the Steve Tyrell, Laughter in the rain by Neil Sedaka. I thought I should learn the original too since it’s just a 3 minutes song. It’s surprisingly straightforward bass line except for the solo at the bridge.

I decided to put my visualization to practice. I probably listened to this song about 100 times while playing along with my “Air Bass” no sheets, no tab, no visual transcription, and absolutely no thinking so no second guessing. So in many ways I was faking it til I made it,

This is my third take. I’m really happy with it. I’d hopefully have the “bridge” nailed by the time I post it on the Post your Covers.

Thanks. My teacher and I have been working on this but on the shorter phrases. This is by for the most accurate visualization I’ve played I’m particularly stoked about the little fills on the second verse as I just played it like I know it.

I’ve been playing songs I’ve not practiced before all the time on stage by requests, but we are all just bastardized them, :joy: My keyboard player is just a genius who know just about every songs. He just shout out the key and chord progressions and we go. Of course American songs and western songs are much harder.

This is the shorts that inspired me to record this without practice

This is one of my favorite guilty pleasures. Sounding really good @Al1885

Thanks @John_E it’s a timeless classic from your neck of the wood actually, the historic Brill building.

@Whying_Dutchman I finally get to your favorite song on a fretless, it’s not too bad rather simple in fact. A bit folksy for you no? Anyways this is your favorite song by Paul Young-Wherever I lay my hat. Hope you like it.

I did it on my 5 string fretless.

Sorry I thought of a fill in the middle of the song and had to live with the consequences
