Project Basses

Finally got round to finishing off the short scale Meteor. Seven piece laminated neck, a very thin body, necessitating an inverted Stratocaster jack plug; and the PMJ pickup arrangement. Every coil has its own volume pot.

Scuffed the gloss finish on the Squier to flat and the daughter has been given free reign with the paints.

Continuing this here.

So last thought I was having.

My understanding is looking at the headstock, the tuners on the right are right tuners, the tuners on the left are left tuners. Coincidentally, you turn left tuners “left” (counter clockwise) to tighten, and right tuners you would turn “right” (clockwise) to tune.

I actually didn’t know that one but it’s read usually as ほう or はな (“hou” or “hana”), typically meaning “release”, “set free”, “fire”, “shoot”, etc. It’s used in words like “broadcast” and so on.

Not at all, thanks! I’m basically illiterate, I only know about 300-400 kanji.

So finally found all of the things I needed and ordered.
Final arrivals should be in early September.

However I’m still missing tuners which would fit 18mm holes and are lightweight.

Tuners I inquired about and which do not fit:

USA Hipshot’s are too expensive imo.
Asian made Hipshots as far as I could understand do not fit.
I’m gonna inquire about Guyker.

Any recommendations are welcome, as I’m getting desperate in searching.

Are your holes larger or smaller? If smaller, you could ream them.
If larger, you could try making a shim. Or buy an adapter bushing. I think Stew Mac and Hipshot may sell them.

Eh not sure I’m following you on this. New neck has 18mm holes and I have no tuners for it.
