That’s the thing about Peaveys. They can be set up stoopid low, without any fret buzz. They’re a joy to play. Congrats on getting the issue solved so easily.
Very cool colour @Reasonably_Happy and a very very nice paint job
Oddly enough, his biggest challenge was the pots…he had to spray them and the tone control kept wanting to make noise.
That was quite the project! I have a root beer Ibanez Mikro and it’s probably my favorite color after the Poison Apple J Bass and the Turquoise Waters P Bass that I did myself.
Looking slick, love that paint job, and the fact there is pain behind it.
That nut looks Enormous!
It is, and I had to fasten it back in place. When I removed the G string the nut came with it (damn that sounds weird)
Honestly, I should lower it a little bit by sanding down the area underneath
- How are you gonna get your action decent with the nut that high? 2. Is that a crack in the fretboard?
That poor headstock!
Just about finished! Got the ground wire installed so I could get the rest of the assembly done. Foiled the cavity and finished just in time to have to stop and make dinner. Strings on and test run in a bit. Sunshine pics tomorrow! It’s California. We don’t have to shovel sunshine. Just that other thing.
Looks like it was run over
I have no idea why it’s so high…that’s how I bought it but looking at it, I have to lower it. And no, that’s not a crack in the fretboard
Neck shims inbound to compensate for the high mass bridge making the action much higher than I remember. But it’s done! We also finished my son’s thunderbird project this weekend but I’ll post that later.
Very pretty red color, @Reasonably_Happy . . .
Cheers
Joe
Well, it looks like Jenny’s neck plate has left St. Louis for Peoria today, so I should have it tomorrow and the truss rod screw cover should be here on Thursday. I’ve also got a vinyl Ibanez decal coming to replace the one I had to sand off on the headstock. For those of you who don’t know the story, someone asked in another thread if we named our basses. THIS bass is the only 1 out of the 11 I have that I’ve named. I mentioned it during the live hang yesterday, but for those who were late, I named it Jenny because I ordered a custom neck plate with a custom serial number of 8675309. I’ll take a picture of it and post it when it comes in, hopefully tomorrow.
Nice.
@Reasonably_Happy Nice colour.
