Hi- quick question here- what material is the nut on a Sterling by Music Man S.U.B. Ray4 bass? Thanks!

Googling makes it sound like a generic plastic nut, which is common in basses in the Sterling price range. Apparently it is somehow compensated for the bass to fix intonation issues, though. Not sure though, do you need a replacement nut?
A lot of people recommend the GraphTec Tusq nuts. I used one as a replacement nut myself and it’s fine, very easy to file and sand and no issues with sound quality at all.
