Refinished my Yamaha bass

So I love my TRBX204 bas, but the finish was just boring. So… well, let me know what you think!

I’m no carpenter, but I was going for the weathered look. Or that’s the story I’m sticking with.

I like the rugged look it has. What was the process?

I used an elect sander on the big areas. Then I used a Dremel w a sanding bit, but I got a little deep in places. Funny thing, I liked the rough look, and I just went with it.
I used lots of different colors of transparent stains… walnut, hickory, and a light layer of a mahogany that gave it a nice dark reddish look. I put each layer on w a brush, let it sit for about 5 minutes, and then wiped it off with a rag. I’m happy with it

That’s cool! I’m amazed how interesting and nice it is under the paint. They didn’t do anything weird under there.
