Ok, so I was watching the latest Travis Dykes video and he was showing some of his performance footage with audio taken from what I assume is something from the main board.
I’m familiar with the concept of in ear monitors and click tracks and such BUT with this I heard things like “bridge coming. slowly build” and “chorus” and such. It was an obvious computer generated voice.
I assume it’s something that was worked out ahead of time and is also broadcast through the in-ears. Just curious if it was some kind of software or specialized hardware device. Since I don’t perform live in any capacity, I’ve never seen anything like that before so I was wondering what that was?
Hey Bud- yes- the automated voice comes from programs like Ableton and MainStage. It’s like a robot music director. We use it in worship at church. It’s especially great for amateurs like me who don’t have all the songs completely locked in. So it’s really great to know what part of the song is coming up. At first, hearing the click track was weird- but I quickly got addicted to it. I refer to the computer voice as Abby.
i mean yes click bait and all that. and to be honest, i just browsed through that video a few weeks ago, i didn’t really watch the entire thing. but it seems his impressions were that bass did fairly well? why have a click bait title that goes 100% in the opposite direction, i mean it has the neck falling apart (which is ridiculous).
