What is a better bass amp between Fender Rumble 40 and Laney AH 40?
I don’t think either one is better. They’re just different. The Rumble is specifically a bass amp. The laney is a multi purpose amp, like a mini PA.
Between them, I would choose the Rumble 40 and save the $100+.
Both companies make some great amps.
I am with him., while I am a bit tired of the “Microsoft” of music… AKA Fender… the fact is that the Rumble series 15-100 are very very solid Amps.
I don’t gig, but I was considering the Rumble 40, the Orange Crush 50 and the Boss Katana 110. I was really inclined for the Rumble 40… more expensive but seemed a better option… but I was incredibly surprised with the Boss one.
Ended up buying a Rumble 15, because I don’t need more and it would’ve been a complete overkill… maybe one day when I can solo Orion without misses!
Yet. You’ll need more if you keep at it.
Buy a Rumble 100 and turn it down. You can’t turn up a 15.
Also lol
When and if I need a bigger one.
The 15 is enough for home practice… and I can output 40W from PC… and add the effects there.
I don’t plan on playing live.

I don’t plan on playing live.
You are playing live. You just don’t have an audience (yet)
If you get a loud enough amp you can have an audience regardless of what they want, in the vein of “I don’t always listen to iron maiden, but when I do my neighbors do too.”
My closest neighbour is 500m away… and my house is surrounded by trees and/or bushes.
I see foxes frequently… I don’t think they care about the bass
For the human neighbours I would need a 1000W amp
Sorry, it was posted before I finished, . As I was saying…
While I’m a big fan of smaller speaker, “my” minimum size is 10” It’s not about watts or volume, but the amount of air it can move. I find that the 10” is about the lowest that i can move and still stays small, quick and tight. 12” is good as well but the form factor just move up quite a bit. Going big like 15, is definitely not my taste although it brings another flavor to live performance altogether.
@Megatronpt when you move up in size you’ll see your BTB opening up quite a bit.
