I only like the off the wall Ibanez really funky design not their main line. The AFR and EHB are quite awesome. I even like the BTB line. Of course Gary Willis is top on the list. Oh geez, that’s a lot if Ibanez I like, lol.
Was gonna say
I like a lot of their stuff. The Artcores look really nice for the price.
Just putting this out there…
People pay $7k to $11k for twisted necks. You got it for free!
Very interesting!
I love the testimonial from the professional bass player which includes “ I play for 8-10 hours a day “!
That’s bloody full on
Interesting.
I get how the twist to the neck and fingerboard might align better to natural angle of your wrist, but how does the action work? The strings are still going to be a straight line from bridge to nut.
Presumably its just a compromise that is outweighed by the ergos for customers of this brand.
You can twist a long and thin strip of paper over a string on your bass. The distance to the string remains the same but the strip squires the curvature those necks have.
It does work fine. It has to do with the respective horizontal relationship between the bridge and the nut. The strings follow that horizontal path along the length of the neck. Long story short, it works.
