I’ve always loved this song
Really good example of late '90s alternative rock.
Oh yeah. I think I’ll just leave this on in the background.
Kathleen Hanna, the singer, was the girlfriend of Dave Grohl at the Nirvana* times. the history says that she inspired the title Smells Like Teen Spirit. I believe that at the time she was the singer of Bikini Kills.
(* : I don’t like Nirvana ; but fun story)
Yeah Bikini Kill was huge. Well, huge for the scene anyway.
edit: wow, they’re back, I had no idea
Been trying to play along with this tonight ! Love my drop D tuner
Keep coming back to this album as background music while working. So good.

She gets great tone on that BB434X. You can see it here:
Those ghost notes are perfect
40 years ago I remember this being released and me banging my head until it almost fell off.
R.I.P Lemmy
More than you might think - it’s a Motorhead tradition, his original drummer actually broke his neck partying, and survived
That drummer happens to be Dave Grohl (Nirvana’s drummer, Foo Fighters’ frontman). He’s a maniac too. One time he broke his leg onstage and came back to finish the show.
It’s a track I stopped listening to while riding my Harley or any other 2 wheels for that matter. Really has an adverse impact on my throttle hand and will to live
Like DP’s “Highway Star”??? Luckily back when I was riding a bike there where no in-ears or bluetooth headphones and getting the ones we had underneath a helmet AND having to fiddle with a walkman was just too much hassle…
TIL that mid-2000s, Butch Vig made an alt-country band.
Not really my style but a lot more my style than most country.
I was totally ignorant of that bassist, and it turns out he’s super famous. Thanks for sharing that!
Anton is a beast . . .
. . . and he is playing my bass LeFay
Yeah, he is pretty good
I had shared a couple of vids with him earlier, but since it is mostly fusion, I guess they were all dutifully ignored
I think I even shared a full Concerto for Bass where Anton plays a Ken Smith and the Le Fay Remington Steele fretless (with a steel fretboard; might also work well within your black and white aesthetics )
