"Share some good music" Friday

That’s a dangerous path you’re treading… black metal subgenres

I kinda like black’n’roll in the line of Kvelertak

And @TNKA36, I have no clue what they’re singing except that it’s Norwegian and that the song was apparently aired in a mainstream TV show

yeah I discovered Kvelertak a few times ago with the replay of the Hellfest. I like it but it’s more rock than black metal

so, I guess it’s time to share some true black metal ?

I’m not gonna discuss the trve part. I would require more knowledge of the genre, so I’m just gonna share these three make-up artists

Hope I can do that in another 22 yrs. Angus is one of my biggest inspirations! He plays the SG because it was lightest guitar he could find since due to him being smaller with small hands and short arms he said he could stretch and move like Chuck Berry so he had to move around and move the guitar to play like that. He said he would listen to something if he do it like they did he just thought well what can I do to get that sound and created his own way of doing it. I remember that everytime I play and find a stretch I can make yet and stay on beat. Or a change just throws me off I start thinking where else on the neck can I play this that I can do to make it sound right. Of course I keep working at the original too but this method has taught me so much about the fretboard and gave me so much musical confidence to grow and experiment!

They’re an awesome band live @Sully3169
I saw Angus a couple of years ago in Melbourne when he did a guest appearance on the Guns’n’Roses tour and a few times before that.
Any band that can loose one of the greatest lead singers as they reach notoriety and bounce back with one of the greatest rock albums made deserve to keep going for eternity imho

Burnout by Fury !One my favorite songs and I love the bass intro and solo at about 3:15 of the song! Becky Baldwin is amazing!

David Byrne’s American Utopia is coming to HBO this weekend. Musically and visually, this was one of the most unique concerts I ever saw. It’s almost like the next evolution after “Stop Making Sense.” There are definitely some political aspects to the show, which I am not commenting on either way, just that the concert itself left me with my jaw on the floor.

And she plays a Rickenbacker @Sully3169
The band has a solid sound. The guy on lead can certainly make it sing !

I had dialed in looking for more stuff about Duck Dunn and other soul bass players, which took me to David Hood from Muscle Shoals fame who had played with giants over the last 50 yrs or so, but he played bass on this cut which led me to look at Foy Vance. Nothing like runnin down a rabbit hole and coming up with a gem.
