Ok so I’m effectively a day late… never mind, Saturdays are good for nice music too. This one I like for the beautiful tone from that acoustic bass. Although it’s quite a simple bass line you should try playing it for the full length of the song and see how you feel about it… (chops). I also really like the guitar playing of Robert Smith (singer) which sounds like it’s out of tune but it isn’t… it’s absolutely fascinating. How “ballsy” to play like that and get away with it. I guess the confidence that comes from having knowledge of music theory and 13 studio albums under your belt. Forest (acoustic/unplugged) - The Cure - YouTube

Easily my favorite Cure song. Seventeen Seconds is really an amazing album. Such a good bassline, Simon Gallup is one of my bass heros

Cheers @howard . He was a big influence for me choosing to play bass. Simple but seismic…

Speaking of Seventeen Seconds, “Play for Today” has a killer bassline too. And fun to play, the main part is not too hard.

Mac @Mac, and I were only talking about Simon Gallup on Friday during a phone call.
The Cure are a great band, I was saying that the live in orange DVD is one of my favourites👍

I was thinking the same when The Cure cropped up .
I reckon you might like Thunder if you did a search for them @TNKA36. Their later stuff is very chilled but I must say their older stuff still has “it”!

Persia’s in the studio version vid too:

If she decides she wants to follow in dad’s footsteps she’s off to a great start. I think she was something like 12 when they did that. Father/kid stuff like this is awesome.
