sludgecore always works
Oh yeah.
Got some friend drama going on; Iām thinking Eros|Anteros is up next. Oathbreakerās not sludgecore, but they are definitely 'core
yeah, here we go
Eros|Anteros is a masterpiece for sure ! not sludgecore but sludgy post-hardcore Iād say
otherwise, speaking about sludgecore things, I must say that I have some kind of love/hate relashionship with Kylesa. I like this song. the production is horrible but the composition is very ā¦ core.
I swear if you could replace everything after Immortals on Rheia with the first third of Eros|Anteros, you would have one of the best albums of all time.
Actually even that mix isnāt so bad! I like that.
I much prefer Eros|Anteros over Rheia
I love them both. Itās like the first 2/3 of both of them are incredible, and they both kind of lose steam in the last third.
Well I guess with Eros|Anteros itās really only the last song, but that song is more than 10 minutes, soā¦
Metric is great, and they used them really well in Scott Pilgrim

(that band is not Metric but the song is)
Iām super embarrassed to admit that I didnāt know one of my fave bauhaus songs is a brian eno song.
Wait WHAT? Eno? And here I had thought it was VU all these years.
I actually like the Bauhaus version better, but thatās true of all Bauhaus covers, especially Ziggy.
Kind of owning it @howard ? With the killer tone coming from that bass Iād say she dominated it. Thanks for sharing!
Totally. Sheās absolutely great and the only thing that keeps her from playing over her bandmates is they are all top notch too
Bauhaus was the worldās best cover band. So many people like their version of famous songs better.
Totally agree. Apparently even Bowie said he liked their version of Ziggy better.
itās just a fantastic cover.
The Ziggy cover is probably one of the best covers ever.
I remember that being in the UK top 20 in the 80s
I know some of you were desperately waiting for some jazz to be shared here, but were too embarrassed to ask for it
Well, here is some really nice jazz (not fusion, not rockjazz, just jazz), just released by Damian Erskine and his trio. Lots of standards on that record, but in a āmodernā production, and so well played - goes great with evenings at the fireplace and a tumbler of whisky. For example, Beatrice:
But, even more interesting perhaps for some us (@LesterH? @locket? ā¦) here is Damian showing some fairly āsimpleā walking bass lines and solo approaches on the chords for that song (Beatrice) - I think I might study this a bit myself:
Beware: I think I already spotted a few mistakes in the tabs!! Check the sheet music!
@joergkutter love it man! Now I have something to work on today. I love a good walking bass line there is something about them that just ties the music together when they hit that root , 3rd, or 5th. When I get to my computer I will share some good jazz as well
I envy youā¦ no time today, the way it looks likeā¦ Virtual conference with US time zone presentations
