Starting out with Harper Lewis was smart

love all the best of compilations on WherePostRockDwells. So good for throwing on in the background while working.

Agreed, I love post metal/rock. I probably usually listen to it on Sundays or when I just generally want to chill out and not listen to abrasive music but rather just have something relaxing & incredible on feeding into good vibes. It’s tons of fun to play post rock riffs too.

I know there aren’t a lot of Jazz fans on here but Bob Cranshaw’s bass playing on this is phenomenal. If you don’t want to listen to the whole thing just jump to his bass solo at the 7:25 mark.

Been listening to a bit of Southern rock since @PamPurrs last Blackfoot cover.
This song has deep personal meaning as I have lost way too many friends in recent years . This is for them. Ride hard, ride free

Thank you for reawakening my love of Southern Rock @PamPurrs.
I’ve avoided this song for a while as it does make me a bit teary tbh . Brings back so many memories of good times with good men and a lifestyle I miss. Shame that the memories are so hard to conjure up nowadays but the important ones are still there

I was actually on a country, southern rock & rockabilly binger all last week religiously listening to it. But had to give myself a bit of a rest by coming back to metal before venturing back because I tend to burn myself out when I discover something new.

Country being huge for me because I’ve never liked it in the least bit ever. But last week I figured out why I would have glimpses of loving certain material I’d hear in say a western or the odd track somewhere in a bar.

A friend introduced me to Outlaw Country. Now I understand why I hated working construction and listening to all the country that seemed to have the same lyrics as rap but with pedal steel guitar swells.

Modern country is microwaved mac n cheese to me but Outlaw Country is a real steak. So now I’ve been able close the bridge that was gapped in why I didn’t like this genre and instantly realizing how much I loved it because it would confuse me loving adjacent stuff but not THIS.

I’m weird, I don’t try to understand only why I like something, I always want to know why I don’t like something also so I can avoid repeating it myself in my own music.
