Well put. Funky classic! I still have “Do America” on VHS somewhere LOL
Mike Judge was genius for incorporating regular music videos with funny commentary by them in the show.

Funny, I was in a band, rhythm guitar, back in the early 90’s.
Mostly covers, a couple originals, and at least one parody that I wrote per my friend, the bassists request, that was a cover of Pantera’s “This Love” renamed and re-themed “These Nuts”

“If ever balls were broken, painful, black and blue”
I said I’d shove it, and I tried"
Etc…

LOL! I love re-writing lyrics or involuntarily hearing my own when that’s not even what they’re singing about.

Well I may not have my new bass, but I still got music. Here’s what I’ve been listening to (and playing) this week

@Ed what’s amazing is that the last time he performed this song he carved out F-holes with the drill while performing…

Impressive finger speed in those triplet sections!

Bassman up front, singing drummer, two keyboards - this has serious Vulfpeck leanings! Great cover though. (I’ll admit I miss Sting’s walking bassline under the sax solo in the original).

@John_E I thought you might like the brass bro

Another one cause it’s a rainy day here and good tunes and in this case performances always brighten the day! @John_E I mentioned a multi-instrumentalist on our live Zoom hang Pedro Eustache here he is front and centre duelling with the Japanese violist Sayaka Katsuki.

Another thing to note the drummer keeps perfect time on a 160b (or more ) for close to 8 minutes and resists hitting the crash cymbal until the very end, that is control LOL

It’s really hard to get even close to Branford’s playing on any Sting song, better to ignore that part.

Covers rarely if ever outshine the original I liek that they tweeked it to make it thier own…

Well yeah I mean any of the Marsalis are breathing rarified air! But that dude still rocks and plays better than I will ever play so I enjoy it!
