That funky double-stop slide with non-diatonic notes is really so cool
Posted before (probably more than once) but always worth coming back to…
Second try -
I didn’t see any reference to one of more covered anime songs - Gurenge, the opening from Dragon Slayer by Lisa. As I recall, Mina_gf, Davie504, Fami, and lots of others have covered it. Here’s Lisa performing live version.
Ooh. Very nice dreampop, almost shoegazey. Reminds me of some older 4AD bands like Ultra Vivid Scene.
Just about to dig into some similarities between Dickens and “The Purple One.”
That looks interesting. Let us know your thoughts about it once done.
THANK YOU for supporting SeeWhich Books, @booker_t !!!
Easy for a forum-mate; easier because of the fantastic books. The Sonny Rollins book that I picked up was a gift, and it was a big hit.
Oh that is fantastic! Watchtower ts perfect for my current mood. Thanks
Repost link please!!!
Love the song and live recording session, truly awesome when you have to bring it and delivered.
Yeah, good performance, including the good old Maceo one note solo
So, @John_E what’s the verdict in the sax community on sopraninos - straight or “folded”??
Sopraninos (pitched Eb above sopranos) are generally all straight, I know of one curvy in a collectors heard.
Sopranos (pitched Bb below sopraninos) are what you might be thinking of. Both straight and curvy have their merits, more ergonomics than anything else. Straight are good for bigger hands, curved can sometimes feel really tiny. A
I have yet to score the curved soprano I’m looking for. It’s one of 2-3 unicorns left I need to get.
Quite possibly… I was referring to that sax the guy in @Al1885 's video above played. It looked so tiny - I thought it was a sopranino
It is. It’s called curved soprano sax.
It’s smaller and looks like toys so it’s very affordable and very easy to play, oh wait, actually it’s the complete opposite, lol.
